That isn’t 8 x 8.5. Add in pitt only offered 6 years. But we can beat a 7 x 8.5 with an 8 x 7.75.

Lol, no. Pitt didn’t come close to offering that. Pitt isn’t offering 7 x 10 to beat that deal

No to those contracts. Chop at least a million for Jarvis and Guentzel. Necas isn’t worth that at this point either

Lol that isn’t a huge discount. The dude hasn’t ever hit 90 points and, more importantly, is 30 at the start of the deal. His AAV isn’t going to be 9+ on an 8 year deal

Pens soft-rebuild

KK much easier to stomach than PLD though.</div></div>
Yea that last sentence is the key. Now if Pittsburgh wanted to retain some, I would be okay with a kuzy -graves swap. Or we swap Kuzy for Smith. Pitt gets 1.1 million in cap space, we get the better player. I think Kuzy would be a decent Chicago target. We pay a little bit to move him. Chicago takes the risk of him sucking or getting really good and getting a good ransom at the deadline

Canes pass. A buyout of KK and signing a 2 million 3LD is better than this deal but a good amount

Kings back to the throne
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Robinho3799</b></div><div>Which pick would be realistic in your opinion?
Maybe Grundstrom and Laferriere are no roster threats but they are cheap options the Canes may need to get a decent roster with players like Jarvis, Necas, Teravainen and half of the defense being Free Agents and being in need of new deals</div></div>
A middle round pick, nothing crazy, is the value. It’ll be a decision to see if that is worth it for us

Canes would just take a pick at that point. Neither if those guys are real roster threats

If Canes Keep Necas and Jarvis and Let Go of Guentzel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheReelChuckFletcher</b></div><div>Anybody is good at 1M, let's be real. This contract was more in the Orlov vein. Duchene would maybe get 5M/year on a 4 year contract.</div></div>
Duchene got bought put after putting up 56 points which is weird and Nashville got better. Don’t really want that guy on the team.
He is the TDA of the offense. Weird vibes follow him. He gets bought out and tones it down. Then gets bigger money and flops again is the next step for duchene

Marner Trade Ideas
If the move could be had post july 1st and we could convince Chicago or similar team to take on half Marner’s cap hit for 375k of real dollars, then sure the canes would likely be interested at a 11 x 8 deal for Marner.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>edeangel84</b></div><div>The trade basically comes down to Drury and POJ. I’m saying the difference between them is at most a 3rd and a mid range prospect. You guys will need Dman with all the UFAs you have. POJ is a cheap 3rd LHD option.</div></div>
POJ is okay. Don’t really think he is worth moving Drury for. We can likely get a POJ equivalent in FA although we are likely going to want someone better to help Morrow’s transition

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>natep12</b></div><div>I would way rather have Accari as our 4c, than drury plus we would have to lose poj and more because that trade would not be accepted by Carolina. Most people dislike Acciari because Dubas overpaid for him, like many of his other moves.
I agree the canes pass
